Create a Great Tasting Salad with Fisher Nuts

Shares

To me, salad is much more than “rabbit food”. I love salads during the summer, they’re good for you, light, and easy to put together. Great as a side dish or as an entree. I often sprinkle sunflower seeds on my salads instead of croutons but it never occurred to me until now that other nuts would be delicious, too!

Fisher Nuts offers nutritious and flavorful options for your salads. This summer, challenge yourself to come up with a new, great tasting salad!

I received the following items to create a new and different salad for my family:

  • Fisher Chef’s Naturals Sliced Almonds
  • Fisher Chef’s Naturals Walnut Halves & Pieces
  • Fisher Dried Cranberries
  • 5 Reusable Produce Bags
  • Salad Dressing Shaker
  • 8 Quart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl
  • 11 inch Salad Tongs

I went to the local Farmers Market this morning to get farm fresh ingredients. I had never heard of a produce bag but I am loving these produce bags! They hold so much very well.. allowing my goodies to breathe without getting all mixed up in the reusable bag I usually take with me. I love that they’re washable, too!

Like an Everything Bagel, I made an Everything Salad! I put in it everything my family likes in a salad and because my husband has a gluten allergy; the walnuts, almonds, and cranberries added a bit of crunch and sweetness to the salad. I tried to keep the ingredients separate so you could see what I added but it got a little crowded!

In addition to the yummy Fisher Nuts above, in my salad I have…

Tomatoes, baby portobello mushrooms, pickles, purple bell pepper, baby carrots, cucumber, celery, avocado, green pepper, egg whites, crumbled bacon, and some shredded cheese all over romaine lettuce and baby spinach leaves.

Honestly the possibilities are endless! When it’s 100 degrees outside I often find myself looking for cool, fresh, light dinner options and this hit the spot for everyone tonight! I mixed up a little Italian dressing in the Good Grips salad dressing shaker and we all enjoyed the Fisher Nuts sprinkled on top. B liked the cranberries the best, asking for handfuls of “craneries.”
