We LOVE Tonka in our home! My husband is a highway designer and often talks about construction vehicles with my 4 year old. For the last several months we have spotted the Tonka Roadway Rig Construction Trucks at the toy store and my son has flipped over wanting one so bad. When we received an opportunity to review this Tonka truck I knew my son would be in heaven.
The Tonka Roadway Rig Construction truck come in two pieces, the main construction truck and then a LED sign on a removable tow hitch that flashes the warning “Road Work Ahead”.
The construction truck is equipped with flashing lights and realistic sounds. There are 3 buttons on the side of the truck that each play different sounds ranging from a honking horn to emergency sirens.
The included trailer features a LED warning sign that flashes Road Word Ahead, the road sign is also interchangeable with any of the additional signs that come with the other construction trucks.
This Tonka Truck is built for tough jobs and your little driver will now be able to warn all traffic about road way construction dangers.
The Tonka Roadway Rigs Vehicle has an exclusive version when purchased from Toys R Us. Though I didn’t receive these for review, if purchased from Toys R Us you will also receive a second hitch that includes additional road signs and barricades.
In the version that I received there were cutouts available on the box for additional road signs and barricades. Unfortunately, before I realized that there were cutouts the box was already thrown out.
My Take On the Tonka Roadway Rigs
From pictures of the Tonka Roadway Rig it doesn’t appear that this would be a very big truck. Upon receiving the truck I was very surprised at the size, though the truck is not monstrously huge it is a decent size. Be sure to see the video below for a better comparison of the truck size to a child.
I love the functionality of the flashing lights and different sounds, both my son and 1 year old daughter have drawn to this Tonka truck and I don’t blame them. This is one tough truck that is packed full of fun!
I don’t have any complaints over the construction of this toy, everything seemed to be well put together. The ladder and parts on top of the truck are non moveable, though they appear that they would be functional. For the reliability of the Tonka name and the entertainment that this truck will bring to your child’s imagination I would recommend this toy to any boy or girl. This would make a great addition to your little one’s holiday gift list.
The Tonka Roadway Rigs Construction Vehicle can be purchased from Toys R Us for $32.99
