Why Lunchskins are Perfect for Back to School Lunches

We have had a very busy summer, my little ones and I always seem to be on the go. Because they are so small I have to take snacks everywhere and it seemed like I was going through a ridiculous amount of plastic zipper bags. I love to save money and reusable items are a great way to do that. Lunchskins are the perfect solution!

Lunchskins  is a company started by 3 moms that wanted a more affordable eco friendly alternative to plastic baggies. Lunchskins are washable and reusable sandwich and snack bags. They are also dishwasher safe and toxin free. You can purchase them in a two pack with a sandwich size and snack size bag for an affordable way to go green.

I seriously love these little guys! I put crackers in and toss it in the diaper bag or a sandwich and fruit and put it in a cooler bag with an ice pack. Because they close with Velcro you obviously can’t put liquids inside, but for everything else they are super handy.

The fabric is durable and the prints are really fun. I washed mine inside out in the washer on cold and let them air dry before using. They dried quickly and were ready to go. You can also make them part of your dish washing routine and toss them in the dishwasher every night so they are ready for the next day’s adventures.

You can purchase Lunchskins at select Target stores.

Wow, these really look great! I’ve been searching for something similar, i’m so tired of going through ziploc bags so fast and this would be so much less wasteful. I love that they are dishwasher friendly!

Great Idea! My mom would have loved this making 7 lunches a day. It seemed we went through all of the plastic baggies in a box every 3 days! Neat idea. I am going to get some for my grandson and also start giving them away at baby showers! It seems this is the time of year I have 9 baby showers lined up!! Having a large family and providing for them, these alternative Lunchskins are perfect for the economy!

Great idea – I love the prints and they should be labeled with your child’s name. Right along with the lunchboxes, a fair number of these will end up in lost and found

What a fabulous idea. Leave it to Mom’s to come up with a created, eco- idea. All these plastic bags in the trash is not good. These Lunchskins, are perfect for me. I can also think of other things I will use these for to replace plastic bags. Thank you

I actually made some of these myself, from food safe laminated cotton fabric. But buying pre-made would be much easier!
