Tropical Storm Lee : Controlled Chaos…Multiplying the Madness for Maximum Effect

Easy Peasy Peanut Butter Cookies with M&M CandiesTropical storm Lee, two sick kids, and the inability to leave the house… what on earth are we going to do? How about adding another 5 year old to the mix and plan a day of fun? So I call up the neighbor who just had a baby boy three weeks ago on top of her 5 and 3 year old boys and ask if Lukus, currently Donovan’s BEST FWIEND, can come over for a while. After her resounding yes, we took off to pick him up and hurry back inside. Suddenly it hit…um, two rambunctious boys that must stay INSIDE? Am I crazy? Ok, time to strategize.

First I put on a batch of Easy Peasy Peanut Butter Cookies with M&M candies on top. Then I whip up a couple milkshakes (during which I realized I REALLY must upgrade my blender) and pop a big bowl of popcorn. During the first 15 minutes they went through 2 card games, 3 Wii games, and each and every one of Donovan’s trucks and planes. Then they settled on Lion King 2. Score! By now the cookies are done and cooling, so I throw down Donovan’s play rug, grab a couple pillows off his bed, and they settle down to catch a movie. All is well. Wait, what is that noise? Aw, crap…they’re outside…in the rain and mud. Someone remind me again why I did this?

Easy Peasy Peanut Butter Cookies with M&Ms
1 cup peanut butter (we like creamy)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg

Mix all 3 ingredients and roll into balls and place on a baking sheet. Put an M&M candy on top of each ball and bake at 350 for 13-15 minutes, or until you notice the edges turning a darker brown. Let cool, grab a glass of milk, and enjoy!
