Three Years Old : Riding Rollercoasters at Frontier City

Steel Lasso : Frontier CityMy husband is a rollercoaster enthusiast, if you asked him how many coasters he has been on he could probably spend hours telling you about all of them.

Nights are consisted of looking at theme park websites, pictures of rollercoasters, watching youtube videos of rollercoasters and blogging about them at Rollercoaster Destination. In the summer our family takes road trips to theme parks all over the US in anticipation of his next ride.

When we had a little boy I just knew that he was going to take after his daddy and was I right! My son is 3 years old, almost 4, weighs 32 Lbs. and a little over 3 Feet tall, maybe 37 inches? I can’t seem to remember, however he is only 2 inches away from being able to ride the Pandemonium (Spinning Dragons) type rides..
  Steel Lasso : Frontier City

Labor Day weekend we took our latest road trip with our first stop at Frontier City in Oklahoma City. My little monkey was able to add two new rollercoasters to his roster at this park, The Steel Lasso and The Wild Kitty. These are not your every day kiddie coasters, my little man has now graduated to the family rollercoasters and he was so excited!

The Wild Kitty : Frontier City

This is a picture from the Wild Kitty at Frontier City. A simple little rollercoaster that went around and then it was over, not truly impressive in my mind but my son loved it. The park was not busy that day and there was no one in line, these are my favorite rides (No wait!) and this day it was my little monkey’s favorite as the ride operator allowed everyone on to ride it 5 times in a row… over and over again I was sure hoping that my boy was not about to get sick!
Mini Mine Train : Six Flags Over TexasThe last rollercoaster on my little monkey’s agenda was the Mini Mine Train at Six Flags Over Texas. Again this was a family rollercoaster, yet this is a favorite of ours. Mine Trains are always a hit!

While standing in line he asks “This is a little rollercoaster right?” Yes, buddy it is little… OKAY! Let’s get on! he says..

My little 3 year old has now been on a total of six rollercoasters in his life.. SIX! I didn’t ride my first rollercoaster until I was almost 12 years old and honestly I about lost it when I did. He is truly a daddy’s boy and I can see that my husband is very excited about this.. and what’s to come.

He is so brave!! I definitely am not that brave. It is a good thing my husband likes roller coasters, otherwise my boys would be stuck going by themselves :)

I used to love roller coasters, but I haven’t been on one since I saw that Final Destination movie where the people on the roller coaster die.:/ I was always worried that they weren’t secure enough, and now I think I’d be really nervous riding one.lol

SO fun! I love rollercoasters, too. How fun that your husband can begin enjoying them with his little guy. I have three kids–two of them love them like I do. :-)

I’ve never been on a rollercoaster, just going on the ferris wheel terrifies me lol. My FI loves rollercoasters too, I’m thinking our 19-month-old daughter will be the same way… she’s quite the little daredevil already. I’d love to be as fearless as kids are, the teaching definitely goes both ways!

I HATE rollercoasters! That feeling of “imminent death” I get whenever I ride those things is not my idea of fun! More power to the little guy!

That’s great! I have a rough-and-tumble son that isn’t afraid to try new stuff too, and it makes life so much more fun. Mine hasn’t been on nearly as many roller-coasters as your son, but every time we go to the country fair in Marshfield or to a carnival, he always wants to ride the biggest, scariest looking thing in the place – so thank goodness for height restrictions! I actually love roller-coasters, so I’m looking forward to taking him on one soon.

We love 6 Flags over Texas and try to get there once a year. The mini mine train has always been a favorite and now our youngest (3) is big enough to ride it and our 2nd youngest (5) can ride some of the bigger ones. These are the only 2 of our 5 to really enjoy coasters so it is making our trips to 6 Flags more fun.

I hate coasters, pucked my four times in high school never went back. My son just turned 7 on 9/1 and he begged to go on a coaster. His dad took him on a small coaster, on a drop ride where you are taken up about 60 feet then dropped, and a ride that tosses you up 180 degrees then rolls around. I was watching just thinking that I am going to strangle my husband if anything happens to the rides. Told my son he could go on the Hulk at Universal when he is 13. I hope he and his dad wait that long so I can get used to this new side of my little boy.

I think it’s awesome that your son is so sure of himself! What a brave little guy! I have a 4 year old son myself and he’s probably just as fearless! LOL My son’s fearlessness is towards water though. He scares me to death the way he will jump into anything with water in it without hesitation! He doesn’t even know how to swim yet! LOL
