In my Cloth Diapering 101 post I talked about “One Size”, meaning One size fits most. My son was just over seven pounds when he was born, which if you ask me, is not small! However, I do recall that the "One Size" diapers didn’t fit very well until he was about ten pounds. And that was fine, we had alternate ways of diapering him..

Rumparooz Cloth Diapers are the first cloth diaper that I have come across that could actually fit a newborn as small as 6 Lbs. This diaper is so adjustable and I LOVE that! Cloth diapering is more economical if you continue with it through potty training and use them for other children as well. That was my plan when I first started building up my "stash" and I am more than okay with sticking to it. At 18 month’s we’re still going strong. B and I love his new Rumparooz!

Along with the extra rise snaps for getting the diaper to fit right for your baby, there is something else different about this diaper. The waterproof layer is not made of the traditional PUL (Polyurethane laminate) instead, it’s TPU. "Biodegradable TPU is solvent-free”. Biodegradable TPU is a polyester fabric that has been laminated with a thermoplastic polyurethane using a heat bonding process. This process is low in toxicity and is better for the natural environment. Both the TPU laminate and the polyester fabric the laminate is applied to are biodegradable.  When composted they will biodegrade in 4-5 years. How amazing is THAT? This cloth diaper is great for the environment all around!

This diaper also features inner gussets. I love this as an added barrier to prevent leaks and blow-outs! Peace of mind, priceless!

Another aspect worth mentioning is the inserts. They’re called "6*r" and made of microfiber, but they also have snaps. Not to snap in the diaper, but to snap them together! I can’t tell you how often I’ve wriggled and tugged at inserts when I double them up in B’s diaper to get them to lay flat. A folded or twisted insert is just asking for trouble, namely, compression leaks. You know what happens when you wring out a sponge! This diaper doesn’t require much finagling to get it in right, and I love that!

I also love that there are two rows of snaps on the larger insert so if you need a little more absorbency toward the middle of the diaper for girls, or more to the front for boys, you can do it! The smaller insert is called a Newborn/Booster. I think this is genius, because one of the main complaints with cloth diapers on a newborn is how bulky they are between the babe’s legs! A contoured insert certainly cuts down on unnecessary bulk, allowing your newborn to be more comfortable.
