Stuffed Animal Toy Storage Baskets
Your child grows up and the toy collection grows. Then comes a point where you want to either give away toys and stuffed animals or find a better storage place for them.
Right?
My son has an enormous amount of stuffed animals and he won’t let me get rid of ANY of them.
Here is how we made Toy Storage out of Plant Hangers:
- We looked all over town for plant hangers; from Hobby Lobby, Walmart, Joanns, Lowes, and the only place that had anything like this was Home Depot. I’m guessing with summer coming to an end, things like this aren’t so easy to find.
- So we purchased a 36” and 24” English Horse Trough aka Plant Hangers.
- We also purchased a can of Heirloom White spray paint to blend the plant hangers in with my son’s room.
- The plant hangers were a little heavy for dry wall so we purchased Hollow Wall Anchors, aka Butterfly Screws, to hang them up.
Hollow Wall Anchors look like this:
This hanging stuffed animal habitat would make for a great weekend project! Depending on how many coats of spray paint that you need, this could easily be done in two days.
Because our planters were black, and we were spraying to a white color, two coats were needed for our project.
The hanging process was very easy to do and even though the plant hangers came with brackets for hanging, the hollow wall anchors were more than enough to do the job.
Here is our final result…
