Carbonated Kool Aid and RootBeer Float Popsicles

One of my biggest weaknesses is soda pop. I know, it’s bad. I’ve tried dropping it in the past, went several weeks without it and then cravings take over.

So what’s a girl to do?

When my cravings can’t be controlled, I turn around and find my fridge stocked back up with my weakness. Even my kids are taking notice and they too, want to have soda pop in their lives. Yikes!

A few years ago I tried out SodaStream, figuring that a healthier option of Soda Pop would be better. I will be honest and say that the flavors we tried weren’t cutting it, they just couldn’t compare to the name brands we are all addicted to.

SodaStream recently reached out and asked us to give it another try. Noticing that there are a ton of new varieties of flavors available, I wanted to see if we could love it this time. SodaStream I received a SodaStream starter kit, a bottle of the SodaStream Soda Mix in Root Beer and a few boxes of the new SodaStream Caps.

The soda flavors were still the same for me, just not the same. However, I was really excited to try the Kool-Aid and Root Beer variety. This past weekend, we brought out the SodaStream and whipped up a Kool-Aid SodaStream cap in the Tropical Punch flavor. I am IN LOVE! The kids loved it too, to them it tasted like soda pop.  SodaStream The actual process of making carbonated water was simple to do. Simply fill up your 1L bottle with cold water, attach it to the SodaStream machine and push down on the button. You control the amount of fizz by pushing the bottle as little or as much as you want. 3 pushes was perfect for us, we like a lot of bubbles!

After your water is carbonated, pour your favorite SodaStream flavor into the bottle. Or use one of the new SodaStream caps and fill your water with a pre-measured amount. The SodaSteam caps are convenient, easy to use and 100% recyclable.

RootBeer Float Other than the Kool-Aid, Root Beer was another favorite for the kids and I. Root Beer floats are a favorite too!

We are an all year round family, where popsicles and ice cream never go out of style. We don’t buy a lot of soda pop like Root Beer, so having a Soda Stream on hand makes it super easy to whip up something like a Root Beer float!  RootBeer Float Popsicles And Root Beer Float popsicles!

Would I buy a SodaStream?

I can’t say that a SodaStream could solely replace my soda pop from the store. However, with the new varieties of Kool-Aid, Crystal Light and V8, the SodaStream has made a permanent place in our home. This is a great option to offer children as a healthier beverage, the Kool-Aid options rocked our socks off and it has offered me a great alternative so maybe we won’t have to purchase as much soda pop as before. I’m so glad that we loved the SodaStream this time! I hope to try the other flavored varieties soon.
