Dining Out at Red Robin with Food Allergies – Interactive Menu!

It’s no secret that I have a child with a food allergy. A peanut allergy to be exact. If you’ve ever known someone with a peanut allergy, you know how difficult it can make planning food… especially eating out. It seems like everywhere you go you see disclaimers that the food “may contain traces of peanuts or peanut products”. It breaks my heart to have to constantly advice my child that they are unable to order what they would like to off the menu, due to their allergy… again.
Luckily, Red Robin had families just like us in mind. Red Robin’s Interactive Allergen Menu provides order recommendations based on the guest’s allergies. Once you have input your dietary restrictions, you will be able to view a menu tailored specifically to your unique needs. In addition, all team members are trained to modify your order to fit your needs. They even ring your food up with allergy alert clearly labeled, so that anyone preparing your food is well aware!
All allergen orders are prepared with a special allergen kit. These kits include tools that are used ONLY on allergen orders. The tools are purple, so that they are not confused with the other kitchen tools (purple is the color for allergen awareness). It is so refreshing to find a restaurant so knowledgeable about food allergies, and so concerned about the well being of their guest.
While this level of accommodation is uncommon in the food industry, it isn’t a surprise that Red Robin would step up to the plate, and far exceed expectations. They’ve been the Gourmet Burger Authority since 1969, when they opened their first location in Seattle, WA. Since then, Red Robin has developed a long-standing tradition of customizing meals to order, to make each guest’s meal more personal. Red Robin was founded on four core values; Honor, Integrity, Continually Seeking Knowledge, and Having Fun! With values like that, it’s no wonder we had such a great experience!
Although the effort is there, please note Red Robin’s allergy menu and food ordering procedure includes ONLY the top EIGHT most common food allergies. Not even the two additional foods that are being added to the old top 8 list. They state they cannot accommodate any food allergies that lie outside what they’re online allergy menu dictates.

Red Robin has this Southwestern Salad that is about my all-time favorite! The Chipotle Ranch type dressing is amazing!

Your little looks so happy with his food! I really comment Red Robin for making this effort to help families and individuals out in this way. I have only been to the restaurant once and I really enjoyed my food. We are getting on in the fall locally. They are building now. I would love to try the whiskey river BBQ burger. Yum!

Red Robin is a household favorite of ours. My son loves their grilled cheese sandwiches! I love the new pepper burger with the spicy ketchup. Oh so good!

I would order the Red Robin Gourmet Cheeseburger. According to the customizer, removing the mayo and margarine (and pickles, because I don’t care for pickles) I drop the calories from 833 to 653. That’s a huge difference.
