NoseFrida the Snotsucker Keeps Your Baby’s Nose Snot Free!

What is the most dreaded aspect of your infant getting a cold?

For me it has always been the stuffy nose. Long nights of no sleep because your little one can’t breathe.

The nasal aspirator and saline has always been a must have item, your child can’t blow their nose so someone has to help them. This is where NoseFrida the Snotsucker comes into play.

It’s a scary looking contraption and what you are about to hear will probably make you say “Ew Gross

Just trust me for a moment and keep reading..

 snotsucker filter

NoseFrida the Snotsucker was invented by a doctor in Sweden,
and works as a non invasive way to suction the snot out of your child’s nose.

How It Works

  • Place a filter inside of the Nosefrida and push the two tubes together until they snap.
  • The large tube will be placed against your child’s nostril, creating a seal.
  • Place the red mouthpiece into your mouth and suck the snot out of your child’s nose.

My Experience with NoseFrida the Snotsucker

I was introduced to NoseFrida by a couple of mom’s in one of my online mommy groups. Before then, I had never heard of this device. When I first heard about it, honestly I was grossed out. However, the testimonials that my mommy friends were giving the NoseFrida made me want to give it a try.

My children have always hated the bulb nose aspirators. They squirm, cry and squeal until the process is over. I can’t say that their experience was any better with the NoseFrida.

BUT

The difference was in how the NoseFrida worked. Instead of going up into the nose, the NoseFrida seals against the end of the child’s nose and creates a suction. When you suck in from the mouthpiece all of the snot from their nose and from their sinus cavity is cleared out into NoseFrida’s tube.

snotsucker

Naturally, you are going to wonder how the snot stays in the tube.

Does it go into your mouth?

In reality the tube that you are placing up to your child’s nose is huge, and the amount of snot that comes from your child’s nose will not even clear half of that tube.

If for some reason your child has a bucket full of snot in their nose, and you filled the tube up, the filter that is placed into the tubing will block all snot and bacteria from traveling through the thin tube up to your mouth.

My 18 month old hated the process, however I’ve seen many videos of much younger babies who tolerate it. This is why I think that if you start with the NoseFrida at a much younger age, they won’t be as traumatized from nose sucking as my 18 month old is.

Check out this little baby using the NoseFrida

Overall, I really think that the NoseFrida Snotsucker is an awesome item to have. Even though my 18 month old squirms, we still prefer it over the bulb aspirator as it really does clear her out. I would recommend this to all of my mommy friends, and thank my mommy friends who recommended it to me.

I have never heard of this brand, but I have seen other snotsuckers. My niece had RSV and she was congested and snotty so we had to use a snotsucker.

I’ve heard of it and my local diaper shop highly recommended it but we didn’t have a big problem with my daughter being sick or congested. But it will probably be hepful for the new baby.
