Baked Spaghetti Casserole

Tonight’s dinner was Baked Spaghetti.

This recipe is VERY easy to do, uses very common ingredients and makes a dish that will leave you swimming in left overs. I LOVE these kind of meals.

Baked Spaghetti Casserole is classic Italian food, simplified. You love how easy this pasta bake recipe is!

Here is what you will need:

  • 1 Lb of ground beef or ground turkey (We used ground turkey)
  • 1 can of Hunt’s Traditional Spaghetti Sauce
  • 1 15oz can of Tomato Sauce
  • 8 Oz of Spaghetti
  • 1 Diced Onion
  • 2 Cups of Kraft Shredded Pizza Four Cheese
  • Italian Seasoning to taste
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions:

Brown the meat with the onion mixed in. Drain the fat and rinse the meat. Cook your spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain the water (But don’t rinse the spaghetti), mix the meat and spaghetti together along with the sauces, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Pour the mixture into a 2 Quart casserole dish and top with the shredded cheese.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes

My entire family of 4 went back for seconds and there was still over 1/2 of the dish left for dinner tomorrow. This is one of my favorite dishes!

Hope you are able to try this Smile

Enjoy!

A lot easier than makig a lasagna and I think the kids would enjoy it more, at least the youngest. They really don’t like when I add “grown up” ingredients to the lasagna! Looks great, would be fun to make while the kids are on Christmas break.

I think it sounds yummy….but my family is SOOOO NOT into casseroles. They will eat EVERTHING thats in there; but PUTTING it all together does something to their taste buds and all of a sudden they don’t like…

I’ve never tried rotel in my spaghetti! I think the only use Rotel has ever had in our home is with Velveeta cheese. Will have to try this some time!

Since making this dish we have thought of many things to add into the spaghetti like fresh mushroom, maybe broccoli.. YUM!

Now I know what I am going to make for dinner tonight! Spaghetti is one of our favorite dishes but I am tired of the same-old, same-old. I like the cheese addition and the casserole method! (I’ve started adding mild Rotel to my spaghetti – have you ever tried it? It’s a can of diced tomatoes with chilis …adds a bit of zip to my tomato dishes.)
