Quick & Easy Homemade Pizza Dough

My first stop in learning to save money at the grocery store was to find recipes that were not only quick and easy, they required very few & cheap ingredients.

Heather at Ourkidsmom.com shared her recipe with me for a Quick & Easy Homemade Pizza Dough.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup oil

Instructions:

Place all of the ingredients into a bowl or your Kitchen Aid mixer (perfect chance to use your dough hook!) and mix well until combined. When thoroughly mixed take the dough, place it on the counter and kneed it a few times to shape the dough into a ball. Roll the dough out onto the counter and place onto a greased cookie sheet (Pam works great!)

Top with sauce, all of your favorite pizza toppings (Here’s a great coupon for Hormel Pepperoni, more savings!) and cook in the oven at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes, this cheese pizza I made this evening took roughly 22 minutes.

Tip: I already had pizza sauce on hand when I cooked this recipe, however Heather provided a tip of using 1 can of tomato sauce with a sprinkle of Italian seasoning and Garlic salt.

My Thoughts On This Recipe:

If you have read my blog before, I am not a cook. Needless to say I was nervous to make a homemade pizza dough. The recipe was very easy to follow, used ingredients I already had on hand and took no time at all to prepare! My husband and I both loved the pizza and though the pizza turned out a little orangey from the cheddar cheese, it tasted wonderful.

The thoughts from my two little monkeys:

Andrew is 4 and has major texture sensitivity issues. He LOVES pizza but he is very picky about where it is from. I asked begged him to try a piece, Andrew was not digging this new pizza. I think maybe I overdid it on the sauce? Andrew almost vomited when he placed the first piece in his mouth LOL poor kid. I don’t expect much from him, Andrew is my chicken, hot dog and mac n cheese kid.

Andrea is 16 months and thankfully is still at an age of accepting new foods. She doesn’t have the sensitivity issues that my son has and she DEVOURED her dinner. No issues from her and she gladly accepted seconds!
