Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Casserole Dinner Kit | Chicken Pot Pie at Our House!

Recently, I was offered a chance to try out the new Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Casserole Oven Baked Dinner Kits. I love dinner type kits in our house, specially on busy nights, so we gave it a go. Ironically, this opportunity came up at a time of our kids being sick for eight long days. Now that they are over their illness, daddy and mommy are starting to come down with it too. We know it’s important to make dinner for the family, even when one isn’t feeling well, so I was happy to try out this dinner kit on a much needed lazy evening.

The Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Casserole Oven Baked Dinner Kits come in three delicious varieties, chicken pot pie, chili cornbread and Shepherd’s pie. Chicken pot pie is one of my favorite comfort foods, this was a no brainer for our dinner menu tonight.

So how does this cheesy casserole dinner kit work?

This isn’t your typical dinner kit that is thrown together in a skillet and then it’s done. The main dish is prepared inside of the skillet along with the chicken, then the biscuit mix is added to the top and the dish will finish baking in the oven until done.

To be honest, this all sounded like a drawn out process for a “simple dinner”. When it was all said and done, this tasty dinner couldn’t have been made any quicker. I was able to finish preparation, cooking and oven baking in less than 30 minutes.

Once the mixture has finished cooking, layer it into your 2 qt casserole dish. Then the creamy Velveeta cheese is layered on top, followed by the biscuit mixture that was prepared while the chicken was cooking. Wah lah! Easy Peasy for this tired mom.

Before dinner got started, I was moaning and groaning about cooking. Really am not feeling well. But life goes on for the mommy and dinner needed to be made. I was very pleased with the ease of putting this dish together and my family loved it. The Velveeta cheese addition to this popular chicken pot pie dish was absolutely divine and mouth watering. We will be keeping the Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Casserole Dinner Kits on our menu plan for those busy nights when we need something quick.
