How the AMP AI2 Cloth Diaper Saved My Afternoon | Review

What gets wet as it dries?

Did you say “towel”? You’re probably right, but when talking about cloth diapers the right answer would be an AMP cloth diaper insert!

cloth diaper insert

Hands down, this is THE most absorbent diaper combination I’ve come across. AMP diapers are designed and made by Annie, a mother of 5 who couldn’t find a commercially made cloth diaper that was the quality and durability she needed. She created AMP diapers to fit those needs and after friends asked her for her diapers she created a company surrounding cloth diapers.

After the AMP diaper was prepped, I put it on B before going to visit a friend. 6 hours later I (shamefully) realized I hadn’t changed his diaper since before we left the house. He had been playing full throttle with my friend’s kids and I had been chatting it up and lost track of time. After catching him to change the diaper I was expecting wet pants and a sore bum.

baby wearing cloth diaper

I found neither! I pulled off the very heavy AMP diaper, popped on some new fluff and sent him on his way. I couldn’t believe this diaper could hold so much! Since then, this has been my go-to night time diaper because I know I can rest easy knowing I won’t have PJs and bedding to change!
The AMP diaper I received is a AI2 diaper with a bamboo insert and booster.

Here are some great features of the AMP cloth diaper:

  • The soft elastic gathers are incredible at containing leaks while being oh so gentle on babies tender skin
  • Four rows of snaps on each side allow separate tummy and thigh adjustments, this means you get a custom fit on any baby.
  • The super soft fleece keeps the absorbent insert where it belongs so there’s no bunching.
  • The durable waterproof breathable fabric is soft and stretchy these diapers can be washed and dried over and over and still look and work like new.
  • All in two’s are a two part system so washing and drying is quick and easy.
  • Choose your favorite absorbent inserts from cotton, AMP hemp or AMP bamboo inserts.

Available in 2 sizes, these diapers will be loved from 8 to 35lbs!

There are so many beautiful colors to choose from, B received “Saturn” which is an awesome purple-blue. In some lights it looks more purple and in others more blue. I love this diaper!

This sounds like such an amazing diaper. My daughter soaks through most diapers within an hour. I would love to try this diaper for my daughter. I love the elastic gathering in the front. Seems like most diapers my daughter uses leave a huge gap in the front

I have yet to buy an AI2 but I am highly thinking about trying these. I do not have a sure fire go to night dipe so this might be the one I should buy. One question though with the AI2’s do the inserts go ina pocket or right on babys bum?

The fleece part is just the inner. There is no pocket. The bamboo just sits on top and sort of sticks to the fleece so it doesn’t move all around in the diaper.

Just visited the site and I must say that I love that this company offers it’s mess ups- better known as seconds- at a discount. I’ve shopped other companies less than perfect products and most of the time you can’t even tell. I plan to give it a try. Most of my diapees are going to be hidden under clothes anyway so why should I care if there’s a little flaw!
