Homemade Soda Pop is Done Easy with SodaStream | Review

The SodaStream system enables consumers to carbonate water and to flavor carbonated beverages at home as an alternative to purchasing pre-packed bottles or cans. This has many important benefits to the consumer including cost savings and no hassle with bottles.

Last year my husband and I gave up soda in an attempt to be healthier. It wasn’t a total success. We like soda, we really do. My husband came to me when he heard about making homemade soda pop with the SodaStream, we decided to look into it.

Reading all about how there was no aspartame, no high fructose corn syrup, and BPA free bottles. All of that had me intrigued with how we could still enjoy soda and be healthier.

When I first opened the Genesis SodaStream I was immediately surprised at how slim and simple it is! When I think of soda, I imagine those big contraptions at a fast food restaurant that would barely fit through my door, let alone on my counter!

I also liked that there are no cords or batteries involved! So simple.

My husband was like a kid at Christmas. He enjoys soda immensely and was thrilled that there was a way to enjoy it healthier and inexpensively.

I received an array of flavors to taste. I was thrilled to see some favorites, Grapefruit soda has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.

Once I got it set up, I was excited to try it. I didn’t just try it. I made two liters, back to back!

Two BPA free liter size plastic bottles came with it. The bottles easily screw into the Jet & Stream. The sticker on the top of the SodaStream includes clear instructions. Within seconds, the tap water is carbonated to soda water! All you have to do is simply choose a flavor, pour it in, and enjoy.

We don’t have a large kitchen; we’re renting and our storage space isn’t optimal. However, knowing that I have so many options of soda flavors and literally all of it fits in one little corner on my counter and one little shelf in my cupboard makes me so happy!

I’ve become quite frugal since becoming a mom. We cloth diaper, I make my own laundry soap, I clip coupons, etc. SodaStream allows me to save time, money, space, and the environment all while providing my family a fun and great tasting way to enjoy soda.
