Frito Lay Tailgating Recipes

football party tailgating foodThe Summer heat is now behind us, there is a cool crisp in the air. This can mean only one thing..

Are you ready for some Football!!!!

Here in Kansas City, Football and Tailgating is taken very seriously, by many many fans. Sure, our team has only won one out of the last 8 games, and sure we are the last in the league. But Kansas City stands behind the Chiefs, through thick and thin, and if they aren’t going to win a game then at least we can have fun while watching.

Right?

Ultimate Tailgating Checklist

The folks over at Frito Lay have worked with their Frito Lay Flavor Kitchen Chef Jody Denton to develop this Ultimate Tailgating Checklist.

There are some things on this list I would never have thought about!

If you are heading out for some tailgating this season, be sure to check out the list and we hope that it will help you with your shopping.

The Ultimate Tailgating Checklist

The best part of tailgating is the food, because what would be a tailgating party without food?

Chef Jody’s delicious tailgating recipes, like Brats with TOSTITOS® Queso Dip and Salsa and RUFFLES® MAX™ Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Quesadillas, are sure to score a touchdown with guests.

Ruffles Max Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Quesadilla

Ingredients:

  • 1 – Cooked Rotisserie Chicken
  • 3/4 Cup Any BBQ Sauce
  • 4 – Large Flour Tortillas
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1/2 Lb or 1 Cup – Grated Mild Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Bunch – Green Onions, Sliced
  • 4 Cups – Ruffles Max Smokehouse Style BBQ Flavored Potato Chips

Instructions:

Preheat a gas or charcoal grill at medium heat.

Pull the cooked meat from the chicken and transfer to a mixing bowl. Add the BBQ sauce and mix well. Transfer to a small sauce pan and warm the meat and sauce over low heat.

Rub a small amount of butter evenly over one side of each tortilla, buttered side down.

Sprinkle cheese evenly over each tortilla, then top evenly with the warm chicken and sprinkle green onions. Foil side down, transfer to the grill and cook until the cheese melts and the tortilla is light golden brown. Remove from the grill and top one half of the quesadilla evenly with the Ruffles Max Smokehouse Style BBQ Flavored Potato Chips, then folder the other half over and press down firmly, then cut into 4 or 6 even slices and immediately serve hot & crunchy.

Hungry Yet?

Ingredients:

  • 8 – Bratwurst
  • 8 – Hoagie or French Rolls, Split
  • 1/4 Cup – Brown Deli Mustard
  • 15.5 Oz – Tostitos Salsa con Queso
  • 15.5 Oz – Tostitos Restaurant Style Salsa
  • 3/4 Cup – Yellow Onions
  • 3/4 Cup – Grated Cheddar Cheese

Brats with Tostitos Queso & Salsa

 Instructions:

Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium heat.

Warm the Tostitos Salsa con Queso and set aside. Keep warm.

Place the bratwurst on the grill and turn about every 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides and firm. Remove from the grill and allow to rest 5 minutes.

While the bratwurst are resting, place the hoagie rolls, split side down on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until toasted golden brown.

To serve, spread a little mustard on the bun, place the brat in the bun. Spoon a layer of Tostitos Salsa con Queso over the bratwurst, then top with the Tostitos Restaurant Style Salsa, grated cheese and onions and serve with your favorite Ruffles potato chips or Tostitos Restaurant Style tortilla chips.

ooo, definitely missing out! 8×8 pan, layer refried beans, shredded cheedar, and salsa. Microwave 1 minute. sit 1 minute. microwave another minute. layer on sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes. Serve with chips (the 7th layer). You can also add guac in there somewhere.
