Foocot Child Cot from Joovy |Portable Travel Solution

My family loves to travel, specially in the Spring and Summer months, and this year will be the biggest traveling season yet. We received the Foocot Child Cot from Joovy for review, I was super excited to see how we could fit this into our packing preparations.

Our first stop will be in San Diego, California. We will be taking a flight from Kansas City to California and this will be our first ever experience flying with the whole family. Normally we are road warriors and travel everywhere possible by car, it’s just easier that way.

Andrea is our youngest, at 2 years old. Last year, during our travels we used the Pack ‘n Play for Andrea to sleep in. It worked okay, even though the Pack ‘n Play was big, heavy and bulky. She was used to the crib, so the Pack ‘n Play just made sense to us.

Now that Andrea is outgrown of the crib, we wondered how she would handle being in a Pack ‘n Play at the hotel. Luckily, Joovy came up with an awesome solution that would make both of the kids and mommy/daddy happy.

The Footcot Child Cot from Joovy weighs in at 6 pounds, comes with a high quality carrying bag and folds up just like a camping chair. Talk about portability when traveling!

Features of the Joovy Foocot:

  • Made of top grade 600D Nylon fabric
  • Includes a 100% cotton sheet
  • Includes a travel bag with strap, made of the same 600D Nylon material
  • Features: Two storage pockets for your child’s belongings
  • Supportive for a child up to 48 inches tall or 75 pounds
  • Comes in 4 great colors : Blueberry, Pink, Orangie and Greenie

Because of the Joovy Foocot’s simplicity, it’s great that the kids can lay down in a familiar bed no matter were they are. Since we aren’t traveling for another few weeks, I decided to bring the Joovy Foocot out into the living room for a little indoor camping. The weather is cold, snowy, rainy and just plain yucky. What a perfect way to get the children adjusted before actually leaving our home!

Sometimes the kids get a little crazy and excited when the Joovy Foocot comes out. Before I noticed the locking feature on the side, the kids were picking up their beds and folding it themselves. My concern grew about pinched little fingers.

After looking a little closer, I quickly latched the Foocot to keep it in an open position while in use. I love the ease of use! It’s so easy to latch and unlatch, fold and unfold.

Included with the Joovy Foocot is a 100% cotton fitted sheet. This isn’t a thin ordinary sheet that was added as an extra, the quality is fantastic. The sheet is so easy to put on, easy to take off, and is so incredibly soft.

When I laid Andrea down for a quick afternoon “quiet time”, she was drawn to the softness just like her blankie. Andrea’s fingers wrapped around the edging and quickly found a new “lovey”.

On each side of the Foocot, the attached Joovy pockets are there to hold all of your little one’s treasures. My kids love to take books and small toys to bed, now they won’t be lost in bed as the little pockets can hold their belongings safely until morning.

I have a 5 year old, as seen in the above picture, and a 2 year old. Both children fit perfectly on the Joovy Foocot and love spending their quiet time there.

We have been using the Joovy Foocot during quiet time to help them become adapted. Now when we travel, out of town for vacation, camping, to a friends house or wherever, the kids will have a safe and familiar place to call their bed. As a parent, traveling with 4 people, the Joovy Foocot will make the process so much easier with it’s lightweight and ease of use features.

This would be great for my oldest daughter(3). There’s never any room on the couch so when she gets tired she just takes naps where ever, usually on the floor. This would make all that better and she would have her own little place to nap and no more sleeping on the dirty hard floor! Thanks for the post!

This would be nice to have when my daughter stays at her grandparents. I don’t like her sleeping in the same bed as them since they sleep so hard.

These look like something I could really use. As a childcare provider, I have kids that are really too big for a portable crib, but rules say they need to be in some sort of bed. A mattress on the floor is hard to put away at the end of the day so this is something I am going to look into.

I’m with Erinn, these would be perfect for my boys for when we go camping. Of course they could sleep on the ground just fine, but these would be so much more comfortable. Also, I think Joovy should make a Foocot for grownups!

What a great idea! I’d love to have this for traveling with my toddler, and it would be great for camping trips. Probably much more comfy than the bumpy ground. :)

This sounds like a great travel solution! Thankfully, we have an extra room for our kids when we travel this summer, so they will have real beds, but last summer this would have been a life saver!
