Good Seasons Italian Dressing Chicken, Green Beans & Potatoes Recipe

Pinterest really has been a savior when it comes to finding new recipes to try with my family. Specially, recipes that work well for busy night AND picky kids.  My golden pick? This green bean, chicken, potato casserole made with good seasons seasoning.

Good Seasons Italian Dressing Chicken, Green Beans & Potatoes Recipe - Even the kids love it! This is a must pin!!

Chicken, Italian dressing mix, green beans, and potatoes. I’ve seen this idea all over Pinterest and have no idea who to give credit to. However, whoever came up with it deserves all the credit in the world because this is…

INCREDIBLE!

We are talking less than a 5 minute prep time, an hour in the oven and voila. Super easy dinner that isn’t too hard to make!

Good Seasons Italian Dressing Chicken, Green Beans & Potatoes Recipe - Even the kids love it! This is a must pin!!

To make this dish, all you need is a package of boneless and skinless chicken breasts or tenders. Red new potatoes are my favorite flavor for the potatoes in this dish, but you could really use any kind that you prefer. The green beans are just two cans of green beans or you can use an entirely different vegetable here.

Lay the chicken down the middle of your dish, then lay the potatoes on one side of the chicken and the green beans on the other. Sprinkle the entire package of good seasons italian seasoning mix across the top, pour the butter on top and cook in the oven.

I liked it, fiancé didn’t. He said it was too buttery. I wonder if it might taste better making the salad dressing first? Has anyone tried doing that?

Are you using regular Italian dressing mix at 1.25 ounces or the zesty Italian that comes in .6oz? That’s the only way I can find it.

I love this recipe. I use all kinds of meat…boneless pork ribs, or pork chops or chicken breast or thighs of legs. Sometimes I cook it 1.5 hours if I have a larger amount in a bigger pan.

As for where it came from: My Mom started making this decades ago. She got the idea from a box of the dressing mix. I’ve never tried the green beans, but boneless, skinless thighs and potatoes are my fav.

I am trying tonight with green beans in one pan and the other pan I made as asparagus in it. I also didn’t have the Italian dressing mix so I am trying it with the Zesty Italian dressing. I so hope it turns out alright!!!

I have been making this for awhile. It’s very easy and quick to make and taste so good. Yes you can use frozen vegetables and you don’t have to thaw them. I use real butter and I think it makes it taste better.

Hi Antonio! I haven’t tried this with other vegetables yet, but broccoli sounds like it would be really tasty! Let me know what you end up trying :)

This was great! Came out perfectly following the quite simple directions. My wife made it yesterday and me and my 4 yr old both loved everything. Was thinking of subbing a different vegetable when I attempt it once more. Maybe Carrots or Broccoli? Some other suggestions? Much appreciated!

I’ve made this twice now and my picky eaters absolutely love it!
With me working two jobs I can make this on Sunday, doubling the recipe and we’ve got dinner and lunch for two days!
I’m making it tonight as well as some grilled pork chops so when the chicken is gone (it almost always leaves before the veggies) I won’t have to think about dinner for another day this week!

Wow! I just made this for dinner tonight and it was surprisingly delicious. I was skeptical at first with the recipe being so simple and me not being the greatest cook but it turned out wonderful! I used russet potatoes and fresh broccoli and it was amazing! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

I too love this recipe. I changed it a bit though. I used regular, bone in w/skin chicken thighs. Frozen whole green beans. Instead of the good season’s packet, I used my own Italian seasoning, garlic & onion powder & coarse ground pepper. Also left it uncovered as I like it more on the crispy side. It is so delicious, and a lot less salt if you are watching out for that.

    Amanda,

this was awesome..I work in construction..long hours!! I took out one large chicken breast and was going to grill it but googled chicken with good season (because I had a packet). I found your recipe and had (2) medium sized baking potatoes and a large can of green beans in my RV…I made this and OMG! It was awesome..I thought with only using 1/2c of melted butter that it would dry out, so I checked halfway through and no problem. I covered it back up and let it go. I have plenty left over for lunch tomorrow and it was delicious. I will definitely make this again! Thanks :)

My family all loved this recipe. It was so easy. A couple of things that I did differently and will do differently next time: 1) I used fresh green beans and added them half way through so they wouldn’t be overcooked. 2) I sprinkled Italian flavored bread crumbs across all. 3) I used two TBSP butter and the garlic-infused olive oil for a total of 1/2 cup. I will use less oil next time.

I used a little over a half packet of Italian Seasoning mix and half a packet of Onion Soupd Mix. I also added some olive oil-a little more than 2 tbsp. and left out 2 tbsp. butter. It turned out great. Rice is really good on the side. My 2-year old loved it and he’s picky.

Made this using Ranch seasoning mix instead of Italian. I put in about 1/2 of 16oz package, on the chicken and potatoes (not the beans!) and it was delicious! Chicken was tasty and juicy.

It would be best to have the chicken thawed out. Your cooking times will increase if frozen and will affect your potatoes if cooked for too long. Hope this helps!

If you use bigger pieces of chicken it can take longer than an hour, we used smaller tender sizes and it is always done within an hour.

My father taught me a secret when cooking with potatoes. If you pop them in the microwave after cutting them it softens them a bit first. Its solved all my problems! It only takes about 2 or 3 min in the microwave depending on how many you have.

If you quarter the potatoes (smaller then what you did last time) they will cook quicker. I slice a potato in half, then take one of the halves and cut it in half too, then quarter each half to create small pieces. Your pieces might have been too big to cook all the way. Hope this helps!

I’ve made this from a recipe I found on Pinterest, but my potatoes came out crunchy, any suggestions on how to get them roasted but soft (“done”) I’m making it tomorrow night, I am going to marinate the chicken in zesty Italian dressing also. Hopefully that will put some extra flavor to it.
