Crabtree & Evelyn Shaving Kit West Indian Lime Collection
My husband hates shaving. I can’t say that I blame him. I mean, I hate shaving my legs so I’m sure shaving your face can’t be all that pleasant. He’s very picky about his razors and shaving cream but when I was asked to review the new Crabtree & Evelyn shaving products he was eager to try it. Their newest line is called West Indian Lime and it smells divine! It’s made with natural raw materials such as almond oil, vitamin E, and glycerin to help soothe, calm and protect skin for a perfect shave. They combined the scent of fresh limes and vetiver, a native ingredient of the British West Indies, and warm spices for a woody base scent. It’s described “as sophisticated as it is distinctive.”
The West Indian Lime collection came packaged in a lovely black box and very prettily arranged with black tissue paper. It looked so nice I could have just stuck a bow on it and called it a day if I were giving it as a gift. Even my husband was impressed (and we all know how much men pay attention to packaging so that’s saying something). Inside are a cake of Shave Soap in a bowl, Shave Cream, Aftershave Balm, and a set of instructions for the best possible shave.
It didn’t come with the lathering brush for the shave soap or a razor so he used the Shave Cream. He said that the cream wasn’t thick enough for his sensitive skin and had some razor burn on his neck. He’s anxious to try the Shave Soap in a bowl though for a richer lather as soon as we can get our hands on a brush. However, he absolutely loved the Aftershave Balm. His face didn’t sting after putting it on and he looked fresh instead of dried out or greasy as some moisturizers tend to do. We both agreed that the scent was a good fit for him.
If my husband keeps this level of elegance up I may have to get him a bowtie and cane for our anniversary.
