Chocolate Marshmallow Eggs Recipe | Peanut Free Easter Candy
My all time favorite Easter candy are Chocolate Marshmallow Eggs! With this chocolate marshmallow egg recipe, your nut allergic child can now enjoy a piece of Easter without the worry.
My son has a peanut allergy and can’t eat most candy that is sold around the holidays. When companies make candies in bulk for the holidays, most of it gets manufactured in the same plant and the candies are all exposed to peanuts and tree nuts.
While I was at the store this week we came across these AWESOME marshmallows!
They look like Jumbo Eggs..
On the bag of these fabulous marshmallows there was a recipe for chocolate peanut butter eggs, while they sounded super yummy we can’t make them with peanut butter due to the nut allergies in my house.
So here is what you will need to make this peanut and tree nut free Chocolate Marshmallow Eggs Recipe:

1 Bag of Jumbo Egg marshmallows ( We found them by the Easter Candy in the grocery store)

Bakers Dipping Chocolate
-
Skewers or a fork
-
Wax Paper
I purchased a cup of Bakers Dipping Chocolate, the bars would work just as easily, and melted it according to directions in the microwave.
Poke the marshmallow with a skewer, dip it in the chocolate and place the chocolate egg on a piece of wax paper.
Decorate with sprinkles or whatever you would like!
To harden the chocolate just place the tray into the fridge for 15-20 minutes and they will turn out just like this
They turned out SOO good and my son was happy to have a chocolate egg that was safe for him

My grandson has other alllergies including soy, nut and eggs. Anyone know if the marshallows contain any of these. Dark chocolate baking chocolate is the only chocolate that I have found that don’t contain these.

I don’t know about anyone else but I love chocolate covered marshmallow so I need to try this myself…I think my grandson and I both would enjoy however.

WOW, they look like storebought candies! I have seen the jumbo marshmallows but did not see these in stores this EAster. I’d love to decorate the jumbo ones like this too, or even use the white chocolate and tint it?
I knew people with nut allergies have to be very careful, but didnt know it was so hard to find peanut/nut free candy. What a good mom! And a fun project to include the kids on…they always love foods more that they have a hand in helping to make, especially treats!

Thanks! Called our local Wal-mart and they have one bag left. Hubs just left to go get them. We usually buy our marshmallow eggs, but it seems everyone in town has stopped carrying the brand that was dairy-free. It’s the one candy my son asks for this time of year. Thanks again!
Hi Amanda! I found them at our local Price Chopper grocery store and I’ve seen them at our local walmart as well, though they were back with the Easter candy (not in the regular marshmallow aisle). HTH! :)

Being vegetarian, I can’t eat marshmallows anymore (contain gelatin), which is a bummer. Glad that at least kids/people with peanut allergies have another option.
