Make Your New Years Resolutions and Win with Visa Prepaid

New Years resolutions are made to be broken, right? We all have good intentions when making a New Year’s resolution, so what happens to them and why do we break them?

This year I made a New Years resolution to lose weight, not just any weight.. the baby weight. I’m sure a lot of you can relate to this. After two pregnancies and gaining a substantial amount of weight, I now have a lot of extra fluff to deal with and it just doesn’t want to budge.

I purchased a Fitbit activity monitor to get a better idea of where the problem was. I clearly found that my calories burned was way less than the calories that was being consumed. So the Fibit has started to motivate me, I’m moving more and the instant gratification is helping to make me more motivated.

There is a lot that goes into the Fitbit and I’m excited to tell you about it.. that will be in another post.

So I did about 4 weeks of the Fibit, lost 7 Lbs and feeling great! But just yesterday, I found myself sitting down to a bag of Reese’s peanut butter hearts, some cinnamon jelly hearts and all will power walked out the door.

I’m still not giving up! It’s a new day.. and a new opportunity knocked on my door.

In 2012, I was invited to the Applebees Blogger Meetup and met an amazing blogger who has inspired me beyond words. Roni, from www.ronisweigh.com. I’ve been following Roni on Facebook and through her blog for a while now and today opened up a new turning point.

Roni sent out an invite to step up our weight loss goals, get things in motion by having a friendly competition through DietBet.com. Each participant had to throw $20 into the pot, lose 4% of their body weight in a 4 week period. Everyone who reaches their goal will split the pot. While I don’t usually gamble like this, a $5,000+ pot and the motivation from Roni combined has inspired me to give it a go.. and my husband too! Even if I don’t reach my goal, the motivation alone should be worth it.

I will keep you posted on my progress, this should be interesting. I’m determined to make 2013 a great year!

I made the New Year’s Resolution to lose weight and be healthy, but have gotten off track. I love the idea of a weight loss competition with money involved. That is definitely great motivation. Good luck! I hope you reach your goal.
