Bacon Day at the ‘K’ with Farmland Foods – International Bacon Day
Ever had an event that just encompassed everything that you love? Like the perfect event, that felt like it was individually tailored to fit in everything you needed in your life at that exact moment?

That’s exactly how I felt when I found out that Farmland was taking over Kauffman Stadium here in Kansas City to celebrate International Bacon Day! I immediately reached out to make sure my friend Melissa was free so that we could take advantage of a much needed girl’s day out! When you see beer and bacon together, calling your bestie should always be the first thing you do!
This turned out to be even neater than any girl day I could have dreamed of! On top of all the other amazing things we got to do, hanging out with Mike Sweeney and getting an autograph and Salvy bobblehead for my son Andrew was very high up on my list of thrills!
While waiting to meet with Sweeney, one lucky fan correctly guessed how many strips make up the “bring home the bacon” sculpture and won a year supply of Farmland bacon, and the Farmland VIP treatment!
The VIP treatment was amazing, by the way. We received complimentary bacon-centric bits and other delicious goodies compliments of Farmland “Bacon Day at The K”.
The Sizzle-n-Snap Farmland Bacon Photo Booth was also a huge hit!
The purpose of the event went much deeper than just the fun and games that we enjoyed, however. The Royal Charities put on a 50/50 raffle, where half of the evening’s proceeds were donated to Harversters – The Community Food Network. Farmland matched the raffle proceeds and made a donation of up to 25,000 pounds of protein to the local food bank! The winner of the raffle took home their half of the evening’s net proceeds, as well as a year supply of free Farmland bacon!
This event was amazing, and I’m so glad that Melissa and I got the opportunity to attend. Keep your eye out for a Farmland event near you, as they are always a guarantee that you’ll have an amazing time, for an amazing cause! At the end of the day… you can never go wrong with bacon!
