Baby Babu One Size Pocket Cloth Diaper Review
Sometimes it can be hard to find an affordable cloth diaper that is made “built to last”. I have tried a wide variety of cloth diapers and have found many things that I like about some, and not so many things with others.
Every child, every parent will have different experiences. When you have experience with cloth diapers, and the opportunity to make them yourself arises, it’s easy to envision and make the perfect diaper.
Baby Babu Cloth Diapers were founded by parents of twin boys in Melbourne, Florida, USA. I believe they designed them from their own experience and it shows. These are quality diapers at an affordable price.
The Baby Babu One Size Pocket Cloth Diapers include many features that I like
to see when choosing a cloth diaper.
It is important for a cloth diaper to keep “B” dry and comfortable, the moisture wicking liner in the Baby Babu One Size Pocket cloth diaper did a great job of this by drawing the moisture away from B’s skin and absorbed it into the diaper beneath.
Also included are double gussets, this is a definite must have as the extra gusset helps to prevent leakage and blow outs.
If you remember my Cloth Diapering 101 post, I talked about how we leave the inserts in the cloth diaper while throwing them into the wash. The Baby Babu One Size Pocket Diaper features holes on both ends of the cloth diaper allowing the insert to come out in during the wash cycle. This is great for mom as it eliminates the mess of trying to remove a soiled insert before the wash, and eliminates the need to remove a bunched up insert afterwards.
Unlike many cloth diapers, the Baby Babu One Size Pocket diaper features 3 snaps on the wings. The extra snap provides an extra secure fit and was really nice to have.
Baby Babu offers a great variety of prints, the vibrant green that we received for this review was a perfect gender neutral color. I’m excited to check out a few other prints that also caught my eye.
My Experience Overall:
“B” is a heavy wetter and we typically like to use a microfiber insert and a bamboo doubler, with these two inserts I found the fit to be a little bulkier than I’d like.
The Baby Babu One Size Pocket Diaper did a great job at keeping the leaks in, didn’t leave red marks on “B”s skin, and no discomfort was experienced from the diaper. I did take notice of the great coverage this diaper had over his thighs, rear, and his back.
One feature I would like to see is a snap on the wings to hold them both together, this would be great for a better fitting on small babies and it would also help keep a messy diaper secure when placing it into my wetbag.
We have washed the Baby Babu One Size Pocket Cloth Diaper several times and it has held up really well, I am really happy to have this diaper in my cloth diaper stash.
